Gary Moore Tribute EP

Over The Hills And Far Away

They came for him one winter's night arrested, he was bound
They said there'd been a robbery his pistol had been found
They marched him to the station house he waited till the dawn
And as they led him to the dock he knew that he'd been wronged
You stand accused of robbery he heard the bailiff say
He knew without an alibi tomorrow's light would mourn his freedom
Over the hills and far away for ten long years he'll count the days
Over the mountains and the seas a prisoner's life for him there'll be

He knew that it would cost him dear but yet he dare not say
Just where he'd been that fateful night a secret it must stay
He had to fight back tears of rage his heart beat like a drum
For with the wife of his best friend he'd spent his final night of freedom
Over the hills and far away he swears he will return one day
Far from the mountains and the seas back in her arms again he'll be
Over the hills and far away

Each night within his prison cell he looks out through the bars
He reads the letters that she wrote one day he'll know the taste of freedom
Over the hills and far away she prays he will return one day
As sure as the rivers reach the seas back in his arms again she'll be
Over the hills and far away he swears he will return one day
As sure as the river reach the sea back in his arms is where she'll be
Over the hills and far away she prays he will return one day
As sure as the rivers reach the seas back in her arms is where he'll be

Back On The Streets

Listen to me woman, I just think it's a sin.
I know you hear me knocking but you won't let me in.
Might be fine for you just to keep me hanging round.
But if you don't open up this door I'm gonna kick it down.
Sometimes I feel like I'm back on the streets again.
Sometimes I feel like there's nowhere to go.
Sometimes I feel like I'm back on the streets again.

Listen , you've been telling me to short for much too long.
Might be fine for you just to keep me hanging round.
But if you don't open up this door I'm gonna kick it down.
Sometimes I feel like I'm back on the streets again.
Sometimes I feel like there's nowhere to go.
Sometimes I feel like I'm back on the streets again.
Sometimes it's the only place that I know

Fanatical Fascists

There's a new sensation playing across the nation.
Just don't care, they just don't care.
They'll eat your heart out before you start out.
Just don't care, they just don't care.
Every dog will have its own way.
Throw out the old, bring in the new, they say.
Every dog will have its new day.
Just don't care, just don't care.

Fanatical fascists with Italian mustaches
Just don't care, they just don't care.
They'll beat your brains in so stop your complaining.
Just don't care, they just don't care.
Your heart is leaning to the left, but your hand in your pocket
It leads you to the right your heart is leaning to the left,
But the fight is tonight the fight is tonight

Out In The Fields

It doesn't matter if you're wrong or if you're right
It makes no difference if you're black or if you're white
All men are equal until the victory is won
No colour or religion ever stopped the bullet from a gun
Out in the fields the fighting has begun
Out on the streets they're falling one by one
Out from the skies a thousand more will die each day
Death is just a heartbeat away

It doesn't matter if you're left or to the right
Don't try to hide behind the cause they want to fight
There'll be no prisoners taken when the day is done
No flag, no uniform ever stopped the bullet from a gun
Out in the fields the fighting has begun
Out on the streets they're falling one by one
Out from the skies a thousand more will die each day
Death is just a heartbeat away

There's no communication no one to take the blame
The cries of every nation they're falling on deaf ears again
It doesn't matter if you're wrong or if you're right
It makes no difference if you're black or if you're white
All men are equal until the victory is won
No colour or religion ever stopped the bullet from a gun
Out in the fields the fighting has begun
Out on the streets they're falling one by one
Out from the skies a thousand more will die each day
Death is just a heartbeat away

Don't Take Me For A Loser

I used to be the kind anyone could burn but now I've left those days behind
And it's time for the wheel to turn I used to be so easy to take for a ride.
But now I've learned to play the game and my eyes are always open wide.
I was the one who would listen to you when you handed me all of your lies.
But those days have gone and it's time you caught on because this time nothing is gonna get by.
Don't take me for a loser because I'm gonna win.
Don't take me for a fool because it would take a fool to lose you again.

I used to be the one who could run around but now my heart is in my head,
And nothing you have said can pull me down one day I told you everything would come back on you.
And now you've had all your chances and your one night romances are through.
I was the one who would listen to you when you handed me all of your lies.
But those days have gone and it's time you caught on because this time nothing is gonna get by.
Don't take me for a loser because I'm gonna win.
Don't take me for a fool because it would take a fool to lose you again.

Victims Of The Future

Searching each day for the answers watching our hopes disappear.
Set on a course for disaster living our lives in fear.
Our leaders leave us in confusion for them there's only one solution.
Caught in the fight for survival trapped with our backs to the wall.
Are we just lambs to the slaughter who wait for the axe to fall.
Our world is headed for destruction our fate is in the hands of fools.
Shadows of the past victims of the future.
How long will it last victims of the future.

Into the verbal arena armed with the lies that they tell.
They're fighting for world domination backed by the weapons of hell.
Is there no end to all this madness is there no hope for us at all?
Shadows of the past victims of the future.
How long will it last victims of the future
