Joe Walsh Tribute EP

 The Confessor

If you look at your reflection in the bottom of a well,
What you see is only on the surface.
When you try to see the meaning, hidden underneath,
The measure of the depth can be deceiving.
The bottom has a rocky reputation
You can feel it in the distance the deeper down you stare.
From up above it's hard to see, but you know when you're there.
On the bottom words are shallow on the surface talk is cheap.
You can only judge the distance by the company you keep
In the eyes of the Confessor.

In the eyes of the Confessor there's no place you can hide.
You can't hide from the eyes of the Confessor
Don't you even try in the eyes of the Confessor you can't tell a lie,
You cannot tell a lie to the Confessor strip you down to size,
Naked as the day that you were born,
Naked as the day that you were born.
Take all the trauma, drama, comments the guilt and doubt and shame
The what ifs and if onlys the shackles and the chains
The violence and aggression the pettiness and scorn,
The jealousy and hatred the tempest and discord AND GIVE IT UP!

I Can Play That Rock & Roll

Well that disco thing can sure get funky all them pretty songs seem too slow
I like to sit and pick with them good old boys maybe New Wave's in, I just don't know
When the critics try to analyse the current trend I just sit back and watch them come and go
Because I can play that rock and roll now I can play that rock and roll
Now, I can play that rocking rock and roll

If you wanna party at the next election only one way to go
Put on a rocking rock and roll selection turn up and vote
And you can check out anytime you want just call me Joe
And I can play that rock and roll for ya I can play that rock and roll
Now I well I can play that rock and roll
Well I can play that rock and roll I can play that rock and roll

Rocky Mountain Way

Spent the last year Rocky Mountain way couldn't get much higher
Out to pasture think it's safe to say time to open fire
And we don't need the ladies crying because the story's sad
Because the Rocky Mountain way is better than the way we had

Well he's telling us this and he's telling us that
Changes it every day says it doesn't matter
Bases are loaded and Casey's at bat
Playing it play-by-play time to change the batter
And we don't need the ladies crying because the story's sad
Because the Rocky Mountain way is better than the way we had

All Night Laundromat Blues

I got the all night Laundromat blues
Washing everything I own except my shoes
I got makeup around the collar and it smells like sweat
A dollar in the drier and it ain't dry yet
If you wear clothes, you got to pay the dues
Sing the all night Laundromat blues you do
Sing the all night Laundromat blues

Two Sides To Every Story

Well I don't know, but I've been told two sides to every story
The one is right and the other is wrong guess it depends which side your on
Because one man's blessing is another man's curse
One man's drink is another man's thirst
One man's pleasure is another man's pain
One man's loss is another man's gain
One man's lie is another man's truth
There's two sides to every story

Well, good guys, bad guys all the same good guys win, bad guys get blamed
I don't care what side you're on you might be right, you might be wrong
And one man's freedom is another man's prison
One man's honor is another man's shame
One man's guilty, one man isn't
There's two sides to every story

One man's heaven is another man's hell
One man's buy is another man's sell
One man's day is another man's night
One man's peace is another one's fight
One man's loss is another one's glory
There's two sides to every story
There's two sides to every story

Turn To Stone

Now the well run dry pages of the book on fire read the writing on the wall
Hoedown, say showdown everywhere you look they're fighting hear the call
And you know its getting stronger,
It can't last very much longer turn to stone

Well there's a change in the wind you know the signs don't lie
Such a strange feeling and I don't know why its taking such a long time ...
Backyard people and they work all day tired of the speeches
And the way the reasons they keep changing just to make the words rhyme...
And you know its getting stronger,
Can't fake them out much longer turn to stone
And you know its getting stronger,
It can't last very much longer turn to stone
